"I Believe in Santa" is such a FUN quilt! I have always loved bright colors (can you tell?) and this quilt is no exception. The Turquoise, Pink and Lime Green colors are so hot in today's holiday marketplace. Walk through any Pier 1 Imports or World Market and you know what I mean! Christmas isn't just Green and Red anymore!! These happy Santas bear tidings of "Joy", "Believe", "Magic"..... and the custom quilting adds another beautiful dimension to the entire work. This 78" x 78" quilt is not for everyone. It's for that special person that wants the Unusual, Unique and One-of-a-Kind. Beautiful Wall Hanging or perfect size for a Twin or Full size bed.
Christmas Santa Quilt - Full Size - Red, Green, Navy, Tan
This quilt was great fun to make! The original design was a commercial pattern by Nancy Hieronymus Barrett. I made a few revisions to incorporate some fabrics and motifs that I had collected over the years. The appliques are fused and then blanket stitched, embroidered and embellished by hand. Embellishments include rick rack, satin hearts, and embroidery floss. The background blocks were pieced by machine. I quilted this piece on a long-arm machine in an overall meander pattern(see detail pictures). The binding is double fold. The fabrics are cotton and the batting is cotton. Size: 76 inches x 86 inches. Appropriate for a full size bed or the back of the sofa at Christmas time.
